The pile of trash on Jalan Komplek Departemen Agama, which had gone viral, was cleared away last Saturday (8/8). To maintain cleanliness at the site, PPSU personnel have been deployed on a 24-hour basis.

"After piling up and going viral, the cleanup of the trash at the area has been completed. Now that it is clean, we will ensure no one dumps waste there," he explained, Wednesday (8/12).

According to him, the site previously housed a waste collection point serving the residents of RW 03, Kedaung Kaliangke Urban Village.

That land will soon be utilized by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs for a food court and a warehouse. As a replacement, a site not far from the original location has been designated for waste storage.

At the new location, Ghufi added, waste will be directly collected by personnel from the Environmental Agency. All cart pullers will have to wait for the truck to arrive before they can dispose of their waste.

Head of West Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency, Aldi Jansen, stated that they have readied two trucks to carry out scheduled waste collection. In addition to collecting waste from RW 03, they will also pick up waste from RW 06 in Kedaung Kaliangke Urban Village.

"We will also intensify socialization and guidance regarding waste sorting. Operationally, we will coordinate with the urban village authorities," he stated.
